Raúl Cabanell, Barcelona (1964) is a multidisciplinar artist who began his dancing career at a young age, attending a variety of art schools and academies for the performing arts and choreography, as well as at the «Institut del Teatre de Barcelona«, later on developing his professional career in TV, theatre, cabaret, film and advertising.
During these former professional years he grews artistically both on stage and in audiovisual media, standing out in different areas and genres. In this way he worked as a dancer, actor, choreographer, makeup artist and directed in some theatre and cabaret shows.
The creativity and motivation for creating characters led him to develop a long experience in the world of characterisation and makeup, first as a self-taught artist and later accomplishing a complete academic training in professional makeup, characterisation and FX at the «Stick Art Studio» school and other courses specialising in hairdressing and wigs.
It’s at «Stick Art Studio«, one of the reference schools, where he would then spent 7 years as part of the teaching team and carrying out theoretical and practical classes, consolidating his facet as a makeup and characterization artist, as well as his recognition in the media.
Currently, his professional occupation is linked to makeup and
characterization, cooperating in teamwork with other professionals as well as in the implementation of projects that require decision-making capacity and autonomy in any of the audiovisual media.
His passion for the artistic universe leads him to unite his knowledge of the scene and movement with the volumes and color that makeup
provides, thus channeling his creativity in search of an always optimal final result.
